Pictures

Here are some more pictures from Mexico.
A statue of Christ in a VERY Baroque church in Queretaro.  I was struck
by the juxtaposition of the emaciated bleeding Christ and the lavishly robed archbishop in the background.

One of the paintings in the newly opened Gallery of Contemporary Art in Queretaro. The theme of the exhibits was The Anthropocene, The Human Epoch, our epoch.  Both the building and the paintings were impressive. This painting was entitled, Everyday Life. The artist is Mr. Brainwash.

This work was entitled Home.  The artist is Antonio O’Connell
This picture shows the aquaduct in Querétaro, unfortunately not too clearly.

Google and Geeks

Sometime in the last week of my trip in Mexico Google stopped supporting the platform that I had been writing my blog on since 2011. As they gave no notice of this, I couldn't understand what was happening. At first I could still post the written part but not photos and thought it was just some problem with Mexico, but by the time I got home nothing was working. I thought I might lose everything since I made my last book in September so I had a book made and then began to pursue the problem, something I’m completely incapable of doing. As mom would have said, it was like ‘trying to make love in boxing gloves’. So I went to ask the people at Best Buy who had helped me before. They referred me to the Geek Squad at their main store. Thus began my Sunday with two great young Geeks. Fortunately it was a quiet day so they were able to help me between customers. I began by thinking I would watch what they did and learn a lot. Foolish me. Their fingers flew over the face of my iPhone so quickly they were a blur. They told me that there was a lot of buzz on line about Google just       dropping apps. They tried to connect me to an app that might work as well as my old one, but no luck.
I’ve been skiing lately with Priscilla who has a friend who blogs. She asked her for help, and I am now trying the platform she suggested.  But I still can’t edit on it. This is becoming a test of my patience, which I thought was improving but now discover had not been tested in a long while.  I'm as impatient as ever. I just haven't really tried to do something new and a bit difficult in quite a while.  Well, I am now.
The library offers computer tutoring for seniors, and I’ve signed up for a session.  Unfortunately the teacher who might be able to help me is not available until mid March, so I’m on autodictat for the moment.  It’s taking a lot of deep breathing.  I just mysteriously erased all the text and pictures that I had published a few days ago and am now trying to get them back up.

A view of the Zocalo in Mexico City from the bar where Barb and I stopped for a beer
An Aztec dancer who had been demonstrating on the Zocalo and stopped for a rest and to take a break from past to keep in touch with the present
